HYDROCULTURE

WHAT IS HYDROCULTURE

Hydroculture (called in some cases hydroponic culture), is a system of cultivation of plants without the use of soil, particularly made to be used with plants used for decorating especially ones in a flat and more generally speaking, indoors, because of how easy it is to care and maintain these plants, guaranteeing at the same time, a thriving and healthy growth of the plant, in many cases superior to those plants cultivated with regular soil. This is because the hydroculture system follows perfectly each period of growth of the plant, giving it an excellent setting for development.
The most inportant characteristic of hydroculture is the exclusion of the use of dirt as an upright support for the plant, which will instead be kept to life by just a piece of material which is basically made of a clay pebbles substrate. This is possible because the plants do not live in the ground, but in these nutritive substances (mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium),that the plant is able to absorb through its roots, thanks to the water dissolving and watering system. It is, therefore, the water which by dissolving the nutritive substances present in dirt, helps the plant absorb these substances.
The hydroculture, starting from the above princilple, helps in the supplying of the solution of water and nutritive substances directly to the plant, the amount it needs, and together with light and heat, guarantees a thriving and healthy plant growth. The clay pebbles substrate is used to keep the plant alive ( a lifeless material, odorless and hygienic) instead of soil, which, at this point, is not needed anymore.
